- May be Jacob Sveistrup was not the real winner of the Melodi Grand Prix 2005 due to 100.000 SMS votes that had got lost during contest voting. In conclusion DR admits that there have been problems, though DR stresses on the fact that Jacob Sveistrup was the fair winner.

- The Ukrainian Eurovision Song Contest selections has ended in a political farce. 75 songs appeared at the start of the Ukrainian selections in November last year. 15 semifinals later, 15 singers had qualified for the final. NTU added 4 wild cards to the line-up, mainly songs from the Orange Revoltion. Wild card Greenjolly won the final and will perform the Yushenko supporting hip hop track Razom nas bahato on stage of the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 at Kiev. Website esctoday.com informs about it.
- The renovation of the 50th Eurovision Song Contest venue, the Palace of Sports at Kiev, must be finished until 20, April, 2005. Pavel Gricak, executive producer of the event told that on a press conference in Kiev.

- Moldova has selected the first representative on the Eurovision Song Contest at her history. This is Zdob si Zdub band, which has won national selection competition. Now Zdob si Zdub will perform song Bunica bate toba at Kiev.

- Aleksandr Savenko has stepped down from his position as president of NTU, the Ukrainian national broadcaster. His resignation was accepted by Viktor Yushchenko. According to spokeswoman Irina Gerashchenko other resignations will follow.

- The name of song (with which Estonian group Vanilla Ninja will present Switzerland on the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 at Kiev) will be declared on March, 5, 2005.
- The semifinal of Spanish national selection competition will be held on February, 25, 2005, final will be held on March, 11, 2005. Songs for participation may be submitted until February, 10. Spanish broadcaster TVE will select 15 up to 20 songs to participate at the semifinal. The audience will judge participating songs by televoting. - Spanish broadcaster TVE has made the decision to refuse from Operacion Triunfo for the benefit of new show. This show will most probably consist of one semifinal and one final, which will most probably held at February, 25 and March, 4, 2005.
- Angelica Agurbash has been selected internally to represent Belarus on the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. The female singer will perform song Boys & Girls at Kiev.
- Constantinos Christoforou will represent Cyprus on the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with song Ela ela. This is Greek dance track with ethnical influences. Ela ela has been chosen by jury and televoting.
